Terms of use
Use the tool as a helpful check, not a certification.
By using TestYourMicrophone.com, you agree to use the site lawfully and understand the limits of browser-based microphone testing.
What the tool does
The site provides a browser-based microphone check with a live input meter, available input device list, basic stream details, and an optional local recording. Results can vary by browser, device, operating system, permissions, network environment, and audio hardware.
No guarantee of hardware performance
A moving meter confirms that the browser received an audio signal; it does not certify professional audio quality, driver health, frequency response, noise floor, or suitability for a particular meeting or recording workflow.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for choosing the correct microphone, granting permission, handling downloaded recordings, and following applicable laws when recording yourself or others. Do not use a recording feature to capture another person without appropriate consent.
Availability
The site is provided as-is and may change, become unavailable, or behave differently as browsers and microphone APIs evolve. We are not responsible for decisions made solely from the tool’s results.
